60 Days of Diemond Dies: Day 49

Hello beautiful crafters.

Today I am bringing you a boxed set of cards using fabulous dies from Diemond Dies.

For this boxed set I used several dies and tried to provide a mix of masculine and feminine cards.
I also tried to mix the themes as well.
I first got this idea from one of Sarah Elliot's Use It or Lose It YouTube Videos.
In this video, Sarah uses some of her 12" x 12" patterned paper stash to make envelopes,
with enough scraps left over to make matching cards.
So I rumbled through one of my many 12" x 12" piles of individual papers and grabbed
a couple of papers I thought would make an eclectic mix.

For this project I used the following dies.

Please head over to the Diemond Dies facebook page to see all the exciting projects
from the other Design Team Members.
Throughout the 60 Days of Diemond Dies promotion, if you like the Diemond Dies facebook page and comment on their posts, you have a chance to win dies and gift certificates.

Spirit of Hibiscus

Hi All.

Welcome back and Happy New Year.
It has been just over a year since I last posted one of my creations.
The year has been full of ups and downs, treasures and turmoils.

at the end of 2014, I resigned all of my posts and design teams
to take on an Executive Committee role at a community organisation.

Wow, that was definately more work than you would expect.
Now, as I hand my position onto the next person,
I find myself yearning to create again.

I have been creating in the background,
but only small projects that time would allow.

To get my feet wet again on posting,
I thought I would include my latest card creation.

The beautiful Hibiscus girl is from Aurora Wings.
I printed her out on some Watercolour paper, and coloured her with my Faber Castell Watercolour pencils.

I fussy cut around her, added gold for the stamens
and I used Wink of Steller on the middle of every flower.

I even layered the inside with some fussy cut flowers as well.

I am entering her into the following challenges;
Craftyhazelnuts Patterned Paper Jan 2016 Challenge
Inky Chicks Challenge 61- Anything Goes
Not Just Cards Challenge 28 - January
Avenue 613 Challenge-160 - Anything Goes No Twist
Inspiration Destination Challenge 70

She brought some light into my day,
and I hope she brings light to yours as well.

Above all, have fun
and Happy Crafting.

Material Girl Mini Junk Journal

Hello my lovely crafters.

Today I bring you my project for the Recycle, Re-Purpose and Re-Invent Challenge.

This project was so fun to make and includes a variety of recycled and re-purposed items.
Firstly, I have used recycled cereal board for the covers of my little junk album.
That glorious pink colours on my inside booklet covers are made from tissue paper.
For the contents of my 3 little booklets I re-purposed some large envelopes from work
(the logo was incorrect so I saved them from the trash),
some doilies and packaging paper.
For my envelopes and packing paper inserts, I sprayed them with some
strong homemade tea to get some colour.
Next I cut up an old pink onesie from my daughter and pinked the edges to stop them from fraying.
I also saved the snap closures and used them on my project as well.
for the black layers and the zip, this came from an old nappy bag that I cut up.
Finally, in amongst the layers are some old, slightly rusted pins.

I believe I used a whopping 13 of CS Designs images for this one.
I have counted the bobbins in 2 sizes as 1 image here.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Make sure you go check out what all the other design team members are creating

We would love you enter our challenge, so go have some fun and recycle,
re-purpose and re-invent.

Happy Crafting.

Oh Christmas Tree

Hi All.

As we are quickly approaching the Christmas period,
this months challenge at The Mirror Crack'd is
Christmas Ornaments.

I created this ornament using recycled cereal boxes as the base.
I used some beautiful foil tape to layer up the backrgound,
then a pencil to engrave my lines, swirls and dashes.

I added Viva Inka Gold over the top, making sure to rub it into
the crevices before wiping off the excess.

Then I just got a mix of materials and layered then on top.
There is a doily cut from scrapbook paper.

The flowers and leaves are all handmade.

Hiding in the arrangement are some rub-ons, chipboard, puffy glittered flourishes, rhinestones.

The holographic rays are also recycled, and I thought they added
just a little bit more sparkle.

At present, I have this hanging in my office at work for a bit of festive cheer.

Now it's your turn.
Create a little something and link it to the challenge.
I am sure everyone will love this challenge.

Above all, have fun
and Happy Crafting.

Going Postal

Hi everyone.

Going Postal.
When Chris told us our challenge for this month I had so many ideas but so little time.
Postage stamps, envelopes, postcards, oh the ideas.

I thought for awhile and decided to make these 3 cards that I can,
you guessed it, post via snail mail.

I used 3 of CS Designs stamp images for these cards.

I used several recycled items on my project.
Firstly, my background scenery is from a leaflet I received in the mail.
I used recycled cereal to back these as the leaflet was a little thin.
The corrugated cardboard was from a UPS I received some goodies in
and the antennas are made from copper wiring from an old computer cable that I stripped.
Lastly, the cheesecloth is from a sling that was no longer sterile.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Make sure you go check out what all the other design team members are creating

You have until November 14th to enter the challenge, so go have some fun and recycle,
re-purpose and re-invent.

Happy Crafting.

Flowers of Tomorrow

Hi everyone.

I am back with another project for Reycle, Re-Purpose  and Re-Invent

I created this wall hanging using beautiful rich autumn colours.
I used 3 of CS Designs images (can you see the 3rd poking through behind the girl?)
I thought this quote seemed to be perfect for this hanging.

I used several recycled items on my project.
Firstly, my background is built using several layers of cereal box, glued together.
This does provide a really nice sturdy base.
The swirl die cut and the punched fronds also use old cereal boxes.
My doily uses some old packing and the bow uses some scrap patterned paper.
I also tucked some soft drink can ring pulls behind my flowers.
Finally, I added apple cider bottle caps as my flower centres.
Aren't the bottle caps perfect for this project?
Not only are the colours rich, but they also have apples on them.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Make sure you go check out what all the other design team members are creating.

You have until October 31st to enter the challenge, so go have some fun and recycle,
re-purpose and re-invent.

Happy Crafting.
