A Mother's Love

Hello lovely crafters.

Here is another lovely project to help celebrate the changing of the seasons.
This is also my first Design Team Project for The Mirror Crack'd.

For this piece I used a shadow photo frame, but I removed the glass before staining the front and sides (with the help of my 3 year old).
The back, inside back, and inside sides a covered with inked Prima Meadowlark papers.
The back is then covered with homemade texture paste in random areas using a stencil.
There is a chipboard frame and a number of meaning ephemera pieces.
I have cut out a mannequin from BoBunny's Cest le Vie line, and printed, cut and assembled a vintage needle case. There is a combination of May Arts and Websters Pages ribbons and trims, and a variety of Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.
There are even some Prima Resist canvas pieces in amongst the flowers.
I have used Kaisercraft Rub-ons in several places including the quote.
To finish, I used a variety of glimmer mists.

Please pop over to the Mirror Crack'd to view other inspiring pieces.
We are a new Mixed Media Challenge blog with having monthly challenges.
So come on, grab a paintbrush and get messy with us.

  1. Hi Angela, Just popping in to say thank you for the lovely comment you left on my Doodle Pieces and for becoming a follower of my blog. I took a tour of your blog as well and love your work, especially your mixed media projects. This altered mirror is really exceptional. I love the bright colors, special elements and that you turned it into a shadow box frame, great idea. I have become a follower of your blog as well through both Google and Blog loving and look forward to visiting you again.

  3. What a gorgeous first DT entry. I was super impressed when I saw it. Very romantic, yet with a mother's touch. This could be a theater with the curtain raising on flowers as the stars.
